Dr. Cohen provides confidential assessment, treatment and consultation services to adults who are suffering from a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, excessive worry and fears, work stress, relationship difficulties and chronic pain and disability.

In the first meeting Dr. Cohen provides an initial consultation in which the problem for which you are seeking psychological services is explored and assessed. At the end of the initial consultation a preliminary diagnosis is provided to you and recommendations for treatment are discussed.

Some of the treatment modalities and techniques Dr. Cohen can employ in his therapy practice include cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, meditation, relaxation therapy, exposure therapy, sleep hygiene and chronic pain management.

Dr. Cohen’s approach to treatment is collaborative, and you are encouraged to be engaged in all aspects of the process. Treatment techniques are chosen on the basis of the problem presented, diagnosis and your temperament. Session frequency can vary and is determined on the nature of the problem, diagnosis, and your own needs and capabilities. Typically, sessions are scheduled from once per week to once every three weeks. More frequent sessions can be booked during times of crisis.
